When the word Doom is mentioned, the vast majority of computer game players who were lucky enough to experience the beginnings of the gaming scene will recall the gaming legend called DOOM. This icon of first-person action shooters truly defined this popular gaming genre. When ID Software released DOOM in 1993, they probably had no idea how big a legend this shooter would become. The story was not at all original and the game mechanics were very simple. However, it was the processing and addictiveness of the game that caused Doom to become the inspiration for hundreds and perhaps thousands of games in the future when the so-called "Doom clones" were created. With some exceptions, the vast majority of such clones failed to achieve the status of gaming icons that Doom did. In our offer you will find a large number of diverse Doom collectibles.
The story revolves around the character of an unnamed space marine (he was later named Doomguy by fans), who fights hordes of demons from hell. The first 9 levels were distributed by the manufacturer as shareware (this is a distribution method when part of the game is distributed for free or is somehow limited) and thanks to this, the game was played by an estimated 20 million players in the first two years, which is an incredible number for that time. Thanks to the distribution method, this game became known to the general public, I myself remember the time in elementary school when everyone was looking forward to the computer class when we would be able to play this game and it was popular with both boys and girls.
Doom had very innovative 3D graphics for its time (yes, 3D graphics in 1993!) and local multiplayer via LAN. However, DOOM also became a subject of controversy due to its brutality and depiction of Satanic demons. Doom was subsequently followed by a sequel in 1994 called DOOM II: Hell on Earth and another part in 1996 called Final Doom. After that, this legend was put on ice and fans had to wait 8 long years for the release of the official sequel called Doom 3.
Doom 3 came with a much darker atmosphere and a more complex story. It took place on Mars at the UAC base, where morally questionable and illegal research activities are taking place leading to the discovery of underground ruins and the discovery of an extinct ancient civilization on Mars. The discovery led to the discovery of the so-called Soul Cube and thanks to it to the invention of teleportation technology, which, however, also caused the extinction of that Martian civilization. The teleportation took the participants to a demonic dimension which later led to the invasion of demons on Mars.
Doom then saw several more parts and the last one from 2025 called Doom: The Dark Ages, which is a prequel to the reboot of the series from 2016. The story tells a lot about the Doom Slayer (the main character), about his integration into the Argenta company and about how he became a powerful fighter against the forces of hell. Thanks to his iconic status, Doom has become a legend and at the same time the subject of collector's passion.
